Desmond watched her as she tensed up slightly, and frowned, listening to her stumble over the words a little, as she seemed to be trying extra hard to grasp them all of a sudden. Still, he was patient with her while she got the thought out, and then nodded quietly. "I see... that does seem to make sense with what I have observed of these times." he said softly. "That is noble that you choose not to. I think that your virtue has as much weight as you give it, which means that yours will be a precious gift that you give..." he said softly, thinking about his own virtue that had been somewhat snatched from him without him even realizing what it was that he had given away.
At the worst possible time though, as she seemed to be trying to recover from the fluster her caused her though, he leaned in a little closer, making sure to stay out of the range where he might be tempted by her as he gave her a concerned expression. "Are you alright, Raina?" he asked, innocently.
