Alissa didn't have anything to do for the afternoon. She didn't have to work, and school was done for the summer, but she didn't want to go back to her parents' house and her sisters were out with their boyfriends. Her phone still said the same thing it had when she'd turned it on that morning, no missed alerts of any kind. It didn't take her long to figure out what she'd wanted to do. Maybe a surprise visit to a good friend was in order.
She'd gone the middle road for clothes and makeup that day, wearing tight, faded jeans and a light t-shirt she'd gotten from one of the environmental campaigns she'd worked on. A touch of makeup to highlight her features was all she needed, and she slipped on her flip flops before heading out.
Her Prius was the ideal that day, with the constant rain being a bit of a damper on everything. They could use that later if they needed to. She stopped by a grocery store to pick up a bottle of wine before heading over to Britta's apartment. She rang the bell and waited.
"Hey there beautiful," Alissa teased with a smile as she went in behind Britta. After the door was closed, she hugged Britta tightly and gave her a light kiss on the cheek. "So, how are you?"
