It was only the fact that the other woman didn't actually seem to be meaning to give offense, that her tone was matter of fact rather than insulting, that kept Kat from taking offense to the statement. It seemed a bit person, but then, Kat had never been in this environment before, around other people who weren't really exactly human. Oh, this woman looked human enough, she supposed, but the scent was all wrong, and put her a little on edge.
She looked somewhat sharply at the art teacher, and then decided to just shrug the whole thing off. After all, if she let logic dictate, as she did so often, the woman was absolutely correct. Kat hadn't been born this way, she had been bitten. She'd never given much thought to Supernatural creatures either way, or to any other people. She liked her experiements and her test tubes, not people. She hadn't discrimated in her antipathy between supernaturals and normal people.
"Thank you." She nodded, then thought for a moment before speaking. "I'm not that new to it. I was bitten several years ago." She could have added something about how difficult the situation had been for her, but that wasn't her style, and anyway, she didn't care to see that faintly mocking smile on the art teacher's face again, thank you very much. But all of that disappeared when she saw the library, and she, quite frankly, wore an expression of amazement. The way to her heart had always been through books and other mediums of information, and this place was amazing. "I suppose I just wanted to see it." She murmured, still looking around. "I was going to say that I hope their selection of Physics texts would be sufficient, but... I don't see that being a problem."
