Tobias gave Desmond a wide smile at his direct question, "Wishes, wishes. Yes, that is a great source of fascination with many. And really, its the djinn that cast them that can make them a blessing or a curse. Myself, I am limited as to what I can perform and ensure. As I did say, I am a younger genie," he said, drawing attention to his age again. When he reached twenty one, in less than a year, Tobias would have his full faculties as far as granting wishes was concerned; this was not something he wanted to broadcast to anyone. And there was the whole issue with the bottle.
That damned infuriating bottle he was linked to. Possession of that would leave him defenseless to refuse a wish. Again, something from the legends that was indeed true. But Tobias was not going to mention that to Desmond, or to anyone for that matter.
Tobias heard the authority in Desmond's voice, and he nodded, "You have the benefit of those experiences, I suspect. I can tell," he added, and he nodded again at the wisdome Desmond shared. At the mention of parents, Tobias could only shrug slightly, "They are very...old I suppose, and yes, they know far more than me I suspect."
The change of topic was well received, "This is my first year here, so I don't know that I could recommend anything. I'm taking classes that spark my curiosity; I'm not here to earn a set degree, so I can jump about from subject to subject if I choose to. I'm sort of enjoying all of my classes right now. Psychology, and literature, oh! And this one called The Supernatural Influence on Art and Literature that looks to be very interesting. Oh, and Biology. They all have been good so far. But you aren't taking any classes right now? Is this your first year as well?"
