“Oh, no thank you.” She replied to his question. Her food and drink had been consumed completely, and she didn’t feel hungry, so she wouldn’t get more. She knew the dangers of overeating, and even if she indulged in something unhealthy every now and then, she took care of her health. After all, it wasn’t just herself for whom she was caring. Her tree’s health was tied to hers, too. Jia could make her tree sick if she didn’t take care of herself. Besides, she was attracted to beauty, and she didn’t think that obesity – or anorexia for that matter – were very beautiful.
Imperceptibly, she tensed when he mentioned he didn’t like crowds and asked if she wanted to go for a walk. She had only just realized that the building was gaining patrons. She didn’t mind crowds. After all, there was safety in numbers. Why didn’t he like crowds? Why did he want to leave with her?
Jia mentally chastised herself. Not everyone was going to be a mass murderer or a crazy psycho. At least outside, there were trees dotting the campus here and there. She could escape from him, especially if he was human. She was fast and graceful, and it wouldn’t take long for her to make her way to a tree should she need it. Besides, there were still people walking outside. She could see that from the window. It’s not like they would really be alone.
“Um… No. I don’t have anywhere to be.” She said honestly after a small pause. “We could do that. Maybe I can help you memorize the campus a little. Anywhere in particular you want to see?” Jia asked as she stood, plate and cup in hand, ready for disposal.
