Xan started. He really hadn't expected anyone to be awake and about. Jerking, he nearly spilled his precious coffee, and wouldn't that have just been a sad waste? Instead, fast reflexes and a touch of luck saved him a spot of embarrassment.
"Oh, uhm, no. Go ahead," he answered as he shook his head.
He stood up and deftly pulled the empty chair out for her; impeccable manners were something he had always been taught by his grandfather. The world was sorely lacking in manners. Chairs he pulled out for women but he held the door for everyone alike. For a moment, Xan wondered if he was practicing an outdated custom; once in a while, some people got offended. Something about them being able-bodied enough to handle their own seats.
He took a second to study her. The first word that came to his mind was exotic, followed by striking. Her undeniable beauty came to him him immediately. For that brief moment, standing next to her had made him feel tall and a little bit clumsy; she probably came up to his shoulders, if that.
Bright, clear eyes that sparkled with a hint of mischief and full lips always ready for a smile. Denims, sneakers, brown jacket and a green top to match her eyes, he noticed. He felt rather plain and ordinary next to her, in his white t-shirt, jean jacket and denims.
“My name is Xan,” the blue-grey eyed youth offered, along with his hand. He wondered if she was human, or something else. She looked like she could be a mermaid, or a siren. He wasn't going to ask though, unless she provided the information herself, even if he was curious. He had been wanting to meet others like himself, but surprisingly, he hadn't met a single other angel, partial or otherwise.
