He seemed to have been off in some other place when she came out of her room. She saw his eyes go to the talisman before she hid it away beneath her shirt. "I used to live here alone. I didn't need to have it on in the dorm. I suppose that will have to change, though." She would never forget it again, she would make sure of that. Having a sexy half-vampire for a roommate was a dangerous thing.
She nodded when he explained his race. "I was warned that all supernaturals have an allure about them. It seems Dhampirs are no exception." She gave a bemused smile at the situation that had overcome the both of them only minutes before. She wrinkled her nose slightly at the mention of blood. She didn't have a particularly strong stomach when it came to things like that and the idea of dead animals sickened her. "I appreciate that. Dead bunnies aren't exactly my idea of good housemates."
She leaned forward and shook his hand, waiting to feel that overwhelming lovesickness she'd felt before. But nothing came. She truly felt the power of the talisman now, and she was grateful that the faculty had the foresight to know that there were situations when the talismans would be needed. "It's not your fault. I guess even in an empty room I should have been wearing my necklace." She gave a wry smile and shrugged.
"Um, let me show you the rest of the dorm?" She moved past him out of the hall and gestured to the bathroom that she'd come out of when they first met. "The bathroom, obviously." Moving past that, she continued into the living area. "Living room slash dining room and over there," she pointed at the kitchen, "Is the kitchen. I guess you won't be using it much. I hope you don't mind if I do."
