Desmond turned a little as he heard Dannika sigh, his eyebrows raising lightly as he looked at her. She seemed as if she was somehow suddenly... different. But as to what it was that had made her different, he wasn't exactly certain. Honestly, the thought of it being him never entered his mind. It had been quite some time since he'd been close to any mortal females, even before he'd gone to sleep. It was true he often would cause one or two to blush, without him noticing, but usually it was a passing glance at his personage rather than anything else. He didn't often get close enough that someone would get enraptured by him. It seemed rather... unfair. To both parties involved.
Here, however, he felt a rather large amount of safety in that fact. Humans were given talismans to avoid the charms of his kind. That much he had read about before deciding to come to this place. It had been one of the major bonuses of this place. An... equality, if you will. The only thing he would need to fear from humans now was his own self control, and that would be easy to manage when they weren't doe eyed and pressing up close against him. So while elsewhere it might have occurred to him that in fact Dannika was now under his spell, he had simply assumed that she was wearing her talisman under her shirt. After all, were he in a place like this as a mortal, he didn't think that he would be without his talisman for a moment.
Watching the way that she leaned against the doorframe, he approached her quietly, tilting his head slowly as he watched her with quiet blue eyes. He studied her in silence, and watched the way that she was holding her hands against herself. It felt as if something were wrong, but he still wasn't confident enough in his ability to read people in this day and age. Pausing, he nodded quietly when she said that she would do anything she could to help him adjust to this place. Still, she wasn't throwing herself at him, he must clearly be misreading what it was that was going on with her.
"Thank you for your help. I am certain that it will be invaluable..." he said softly, and gave her a light smile that didn't quite show his fangs off.
"Maybe you could start by showing me what it is that male and female roomates usually do together?" It seemed like an innocent enough question. After all, she had said that her parents would flip, but she had also admitted that this sort of thing was not entirely frowned upon. Of course, depending on her mindset at that particular moment, that could be taken very very differently, but Desmond didn't realize it. Instead he just stared at her with trusting blue eyes, the light smile still upon his face as he eagerly waited for her help to learn more about this new world he was in.
