She watched him, he seemed to do a lot of internal thinking before fishing for a manila envelope and finding the assignment of the room. She scowled and reached for it. She scanned the paper and her scowl deepened. "Man, they royally fudged up." She shook her head and then folded the paper and handed it back to him. "Why temporarily? Aren't you planning to stay through the school year?"
She leaned against the wall and crossed her ankles and her arms, towel dangling in front of her. "It might be the twenty-first century, but some of us still have parents who would freak out about me having a male roommate. But I guess they don't have to know, as long as it's only going to be temporary, anyway." She took a deep breath and glanced down at her crossed arms. She glanced back up sharply when he mentioned sleeping in the woods. "The woods? Are you nuts? You can't sleep in the woods!"
She shook her head, pushed off the wall and headed for the room that was not hers, though they shared a hall. "As long as you promise not to go snooping or come into my room, ever, then I'm okay with you staying here until the situation gets rectified." She turned the knob on his door and pushed it open, moving backward while simultaneously gesturing him toward his room.
She smirked and shook her head. "Breaking a mirror is seven years bad luck. And I'm pretty wily. I'd have gotten away." She sounded more confident than she felt, but she didn't want him to know that. "But I'll keep that in mind." Of course, the good thing about having a male roommate was that she felt a little safer should someone else break in for some reason.
