Danni had grown used to not having a roommate. In fact, she wasn't sure she'd ever get one. And that suited her just fine. She liked people, but it was nice to walk around without worrying if someone else might catch her wearing less than was proper. There was a part of her that wanted someone else to be in the dorm with her, especially at night when the trees groaned and the wind blew. It was unnerving being in a school full of supernatural creatures and being a mere human. She couldn't be sure of what was lurking around the corner.
This morning she rose early, as she was wont to do. It was something she'd grown accustomed to while living at home. Her parents' lived by the adage "early to bed, early to rise" and didn't let any of the children sleep in, except on Saturdays. And even that was only until 8am. It was a habit that made her rise early, even on this Saturday morning, and she was just stepping out of the bathroom, when she heard someone speak.
She paused in the doorway, holding as still as she could, her breathing stopped. She strained to hear, to decide if she was hearing things or not. When the second question came, and in a male voice, she squeaked and then clapped a hand over her mouth to stifle it. Her eyes widened and she backed into the bathroom, her butt bumping against the sink. What was someone doing in her room? Why had they come in at such an early hour? Why was it a boy!? Wasn't her roommate supposed to be a girl?
Ripping the towel out of her long dark hair, she wound it up and held the ends between her hands. She was a gymnast, and she had a way with a towel, able to use it as a whip and aim with deadly accuracy. If nothing else, she could vault herself over or around the person and beat it out of the room to find security.
With brothers in the house, she'd learned to dress in the bathroom before exiting and as such, she was fully clothed. Her damp hair was making dark marks on her violet shirt as she took a few deep breaths and popped out of the bathroom, towel at the ready.
