Try as she might to disguise her humiliation it was impossible, he had all right to be upset and angry her, she had just spilt hot coffee on him and as she watched his form disappear for just a moment she licked her lips and pushed her hair back, trying to not to stare. It wasn't an every day occurance for someone to just simply disappear before your eyes. Repeating her previous statement she tried not to take to heart his harsh tone and as she apologized yet again she took a step back, but not to leave him with this mess.
Scooping up a few more napkins she continued to clean the mess, "I can buy you another meal if you'd like..." she offered but he glared in her direction and she sighed, keeping her eyes now upon the mess that she'd caused. She was a fixer, she worked to fix family arguments and worked to fix the lives of those less fortunate, she worked to fix her mistakes, and worked towards perfection. It something deep within that always pushed her for something greater, for perfection. And in this moment she knew that she would not be right with him until she could fix this and undue their horrendous first encounter. She picked up her muffin that had also fallen in the process and tossed it into a nearby trashcan, wishing for a fleeting moment that she could hold onto it and offer it up to the hungry birds outside, but the question of chocolate remained so she let it go.
