"I don't think that I'd be very good at acting, and it seems like it would be very exhausting, forcing yourself to be someone that you are not for long periods of time? I imagine I would be better suited to be backstage with you..." he said, making a light hint of a smile at what that might refer to, but leaving it up to her imagination.
As he touched her leg and let his touch linger there for a moment, feeling the warmth of her through her jeans. She was surprisingly warm for a woman of her size. Desmond felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise slightly, realizing that he might be playing with fire in a very real sense. Still, he didn't let that stop him from smiling broadly at her, and lean in as she leaned in. She would see his crystal eyes looking at her lips as if he might kiss them, even though he had no particular intention of doing that just now... Rather he was debating on calling her out on her lies, but that seemed as if it might be a terrible idea as well, not when he didn't know what she might be after.
"No, I spent the last century, asleep... you might say." he said with a gentle chuckle. "My, but it is very late. It was a pleasure speaking with you, Maya..." he said, rising up and offering her a gloved hand if she wished to take it and get up as well. "I rarely get to have such wonderful conversations with someone, and I hope that I will see you around campus..." he offered lightly. If she happened to be after something, this would be the point that she would play her hand. If not... he had every intention of stalking her silently from the shadows to find out more about her...
