Normally, looking in the least obvious places was her best bet, but that wasn’t helping her find Sho, so she decided to look in a more obvious location: the music rooms. One of them was in the middle of a class, so he obviously wouldn’t be found there. Then, she opened the door of one that didn’t have a class, and the soft melody of a song she’d never heard reached her ears.
The dryad had opened the door very gently so as not to disturb anyone if there were people inside, and she felt satisfied that she’d done so. The violin music was beautiful, and she found herself enrapt in the tune. In her mind’s eye, she could see a wonderful dance flowing to this music, and she moved deeper into the room, hoping to find Sho and being disappointed when she saw a very normal looking blond boy playing violin.
He wasn’t normal looking per say. He was mostly just a normal height which made the possibilities for his race a lot vaster. There was something about him that made her suspect he probably wasn’t just a human. The way he played… it was like he almost seemed to glow from within, and she felt so inspired by his music. She just stood there and watched him quietly, resisting the urge to begin dancing through the room lest it distract him.
When the song ended just as beautifully as the rest of it had been, she simply stood quietly for a moment more, absorbing what she had just heard. Finally, her lips parted, and she spoke. “That was beautiful.” Her voice was soft, as if speaking any louder would destroy the magic of the song he’d just produced. “Did you write it yourself?”
