The warm water didn't do much to help the pain that he felt coursing through his veins, or the rampant need to scream again, to let loose something gutteral and real the way that he had done when he had thought that Beth had been taken from him. A part of him wished that he could just scream it away again, scream everything away and somehow fix this whole situation, but all it would do would be to destroy another iPod, break another window, probably shatter the mirror in the bathroom and cause Raina to come rushing in worried about him. There was nothing that a scream could fix this time, no particular thing that it could undo, he was stuck where he was now, with only one real course of action at this point, and that was to move forward with what had happened, to fess up to what it was that he had done and tell Raina goodbye.
Quietly Desmond leaned his head against the cool tile of the bathroom as he felt the hot water flow over his form, washing the blood and dirt from him. It seemed to come off easy as if his body was being rid of it, and the terrible headache that he had up unto a few moments ago had seemed to have vanished, somewhat anyway. The chemicals inside of the blood made him a bit queasy and he wanted to just lay down and not deal with what it was that he would have to face outside, but he knew that was too much to ask for. He didn't even take that long in the shower, knowing that Raina would be out there waiting for him, wondering what it was that was taking him so long. He pulled off the towel and dried himself with it, stepping out of it and out of the bathroom.
Quietly he stole into his room, uncertain if Raina was there or not. He made enough noise that she would notice him if she was. And he went to his closet, giving her ample time to leave him to his privacy before he dropped his towel and began to slide on some fresh clothing. He didn't really care if she didn't leave him at this point, it didn't really seem to matter that she saw him naked given what was about to happen. He paused a little as he felt the clean freshness of the soft shirt as it slowly fell over his body, and then pulled on a fresh pair of boxers and pants. The residual effects of the blood having gotten the baser side of him were now completely gone to the heavy weight upon his shoulders.
Taking a slow breath he went to her, sitting down close to where she leaned against the window, leaning his head back against the wall for a moment, taking in a slow breath before he looked at her with quiet piercing blue eyes. "There was a girl before you, here at Alden. She looked quite a bit like someone I felt... that I loved, a long time ago. I had feelings for her... but she did not share those feelings for me... And she has... had... someone she was with. I could not stand to be with her as a friend... so I seperated myself from her... I promised that I would watch her from a distance. And then I met you, and things changed. And I forgot how important my promise was..." he said, lowering his head slightly.
