Beth's world spun out of control as something began to shift within, arms around her and lifting, pulling and begging for her lifeless body to react. She wished to cry out in pain, create some kind of noise but nothing would come, just the constant pain that coursed through her. In the darkness and cold that began to consume her Beth found her happiness in the thoughts and memories of her family as something ripped, a loud echo of grief cutting through the night air but the noise was something unregistered for her mind was already miles away in distant dreaming.
As the memories flooded her of a happy home life, years spent with her mother and father, older brothers, family friends even, her first love, and the faces of everyone she'd ever met while on missionary trips. Her ears pricked at the sound of another rip, it was a cluttered tearing noise against the backdrop of her visions, and it made little sense as she continued to focus on the images that fluttered before her dreaming eyes for to her these familiar faces and happy places of her mind kept the pain at bay.
The world before her began to shift yet again with the taste of blood and her mind began to panic, she was truly on the verge of death if blood were pooling in her mouth and trickling down her throat. The happy faces of her loved ones vanished from her mind and there was only darkness for a brief moment until the face that appeared before her closed eyes was one that held a broken smile buried deep in his cold blue eyes. She imagined him stepping near to her now just as he'd done upon their first encounter, the way he lifted her hand to his lips and her stomach turned over as agony wretched through it once more, his eyes grew with concern and he lifted his arms around her, holding her closer than ever before.
His blood was healing every broken part of her, her stomach would bare no semblance of a stab wound, her knee would hold no bruise, all that was physically possible would be healed because he cared enough to be selfless; her heart however would still remain broken for his blood could not heal that so easily.
