Raina looked up at the woman she had nearly trampled over and realized, first, how unique she looked. She had incredible features, an artistically sculpted jaw line and wide eyes that made her look slightly curious. She was certainly not a simple human being, that much Raina was sure of. And her suspicions were only further affirmed when the woman spoke. She was very specific about the things she said and the way she described things. The mermaid was certainly unaware of anyone speaking like that. It managed, however, to pique her curiosity. "That's good. I'd hate to ruin that top. It's really pretty." She said about the purple shirt.
She was sure that she had never seen this person before, surely she would have remembered those striking features. Putting her cup in her left hand, she extended the right one and introduced herself. "I'm Raina. What's your name?"
When she had first come to Alden, Raina had been very self involved. She could stop and look at her own reflection every few moments. She had even taken her share of bumps and bruises from walking into something or stumbling down a flight of stairs after catching her image in a reflective surface. Somewhere along the way that had changed though, and Raina couldn't pinpoint that moment if she tried.
The question about her hair caught her a little off guard. Sometimes she forgot that she had different colored hair then the rest of the world. Instinctively, she reached up and curled the ends of her hair around her index and middle fingers. "Oh. I actually didn't have much of a choice in the matter." She explained. "I was born with it. Though each of my sisters have normal colored hair. So does my mom and dad. I get this from my grandmother." Raina also sometimes had a habit of rambling. "Are you new here, at Alden?"
