"That's hard to believe." She uttered under her breath. "If we hadn't fought, she wouldn't have left. If I had told someone how upset she had been when she left, they may have been able to do something." It was true that once she calmed down and took a few breaths, she would recognize what he was saying. She knew it now, to be honest, but the loss seemed far too cruel to not have a culprit.. someone to blame. Plus haven't her mother and her brother in law blame her didn't help matters. Her father had remained quiet but it was certainly her mother and brother in law who made no secret of their feelings.
She had even been kicked out of her mother's house.
"What do I do?" Raina asked, her voice almost pitifully weak and searching. "How do I live with this? I don't know what to do." And that was certainly the truth. It all seemed like a horrible nightmare, but the image of standing in front of a coffin, looking at the overly made up face of her older sister, told her that every moment, every thought, every breath.. it was all real. "I feel like I'm drowning."
