Jack's eyes flickered to her eyebrows knitting in confusion. She didn't play her cards well enough when it came to a poker face, that or she simply had not been motivated to HAVE a poker face. In either case, what her eyebrows were telling him was that she had no idea why it was that she would blackmail him. That meant she hadn't put the obvious puzzle pieces together. Someone who healed from near fatal wounds, and someone at the scene of the accident who had experienced near fatal wounds and then mysteriously never gone on being identified. She hadn't done enough digging he supposed, not enough to find that whomever had escaped from the hospital that day had been originally considered a suspect in the whole thing until it had been ruled out as a freak accident.
But then, Jack, who could heal, easily could have recovered and planted evidence to make it look like an accident. But Jia hadn't exactly connected the dots that far, and thus he didn't really have to worry about blackmailing her. It also meant that he wouldn't be needing to slip her any of the roofies in his pocket either to try to get her to shut up. He felt himself naturally relax a little bit. "Don't sound so fucking surprised, Suzy. Money makes the world go round, and I have a reputation to keep up... Jack Daniels does a lot more for a person than being called Gabriel..." he said, spitting out his real name as if saying it left a bad taste in his mouth alone.
"Inviting me to your room huh? Kind of forward, but suit yourself..." he said, walking with her into her room, coming past and slipping off his backpack, setting it on the floor. It was zipped up so he didn't really worry about her seeing into it or anything like that. Thankfully he didn't have much of a use for anything in there now anyway, except the Whiskey. When she motioned for him to sit down in her chair he just leaned against her desk and folded his arms, looking at her while he waited for her to get on with exactly what it was that she was expecting. If it wasn't money, then he wasn't sure exactly what she'd brought him here for... perhaps to try to manipulate him or something like that... do her homework?
"Well, I'm guessing you didn't ask me here to make out topless with me either, otherwise you're over dressed..." Jack said smartly. "So why did you ask me here, Suzy? Maybe some tips on how not to get plastered and getting up in some random dudes junk at parties? I think the trick is to make sure you eat a lot and to realize that the guy has more weight than you do so he can take his alcohol better. Oh, that and any guy who wants to be with you while you're drunk is actually trying to bone you." Jack paused. "Well, I feel better... this was a good talk..." he said, pausing as he started to move for the door only to hear her start talking again, his low scowl settling in over his face as he realized that Suzy wasn't exactly done with him yet... perfect. Just fucking perfect.
