A Nephilim! Yanagi had never met one before, but she hid her surprise and delight. Though he wasn't a full angel, he was half, and that, in her opinion, was better than nothing. "Ah, really?" she asked, a small smile on her lips. "Maybe we can talk abou—" She broke off her words, frowning at Carly. "Nephilim," she said quietly, her accent fading now that she felt better. The only hint of the accent was the odd lilt on the l. "They're half angels."
With a gentle hand, Yanagi touched Carly's shoulder, attempting to call her off with a gesture. "Thank you for taking care of me, Xan," she said, giving him a respectful bow from the waist. She collected the rest of her things, stretching her wings. Then she bumped Carly with her hip. "He healed me, and that was very kind. He fixed his mistake, so there's no reason to demand something else." She smiled. "Let's play the new Modern Warfare game tonight."
She turned her attention to Xan as she prepared to herd Carly back onto the campus. "I..." She paused, swallowing, feeling nervous. "If you'd ever like to talk..." She quickly scribbled her number down on the corner of a page of a book, feeling her face heat and burn. "I don't know any other angels," she said by way of an explanation. She handed him the torn off page with her number.
