His eyes widened as she practically vaulted into his bike, narrowly managing to elude a collision; he was regretting it already. He opened his mouth, intent on taking his words back...except that he couldn't. The words got stuck in his throat, dying before they even made a sound.
Xan sucked in a slight breath, feeling his ribs crack. It was like she was trying to strangle him and crush his heart. Maybe that was her evil master-plan. Kill him with a hug and then run away on Scarlet Fever. His poor bike. He could just imagine it now. Carly, the crazy whack that she was, taking his baby on a joyride in the rain and getting her all scratched up and crashing her into a bloody tree or something.
If he made it through this in one piece, he was going to transfer out of this school as soon as possible. They'd probably get pulled over by the cops. Well, the cops could try, anyway. He doubted they'd be able to catch him.
"Sit on your hands?" he turned and stared at her, slightly aghast, after she released him and stopped trying to kill him. "You better hold onto either me or the side handles. Now, if I offer you the helmet, are you going to take it?"
