Keeping her focus on Whip made the travel time go by in a flash and she was almost startled to find that they were landing outside the restaurant. She breathed a sigh of relief as they touched down and she was on solid ground again. She blushed slightly at Whip's compliment and ducked her head for a moment. She was a beautiful girl and ought to be used to people flirting with her. But her shyness combined with the fact that it kept her from talking to many people, especially men, meant that she didn't get flirted with much at all.
She looked up as he kissed her on the cheek and laughed softly when he told her she was a brilliant flyer even for a selkie. She took his arm and walked into the restaurant. She looked around at all the wood and at the fireplace that was roaring, even in summer. Most of the heat was combated by air conditioning or the fact that the flames were swept upward by some sort of vacuum.
She sat down in the chair as Whip pulled it out for her and she waited until he was seated and they were both settled to pick up a menu. She glanced over it and went right to the Sushi menu. She loved sushi. It was probably a habit of her species to love fish, even in raw form. "I think I'll order the Sushi Regular," she said to the waiter who approached from out of nowhere. She glanced across to Whip and smiled at him. She made enough money from Matilda's to pay for herself, but he was treating and she was going to let him.
