Maya Johar was beautiful. She knew this, and every day solidified this in her mind. Of course, she’d been cultivating her appearance for years, a tweak here, another there, until it was near perfection. Unlike humans, the jinni didn’t need surgery. Djinn were able to change their shapes, so she didn’t need to be stuck with the physical form with which she was born.
The mascara wand gently combed through her already thick, dark lashes to make them even more intense. Sure, she probably didn’t need make-up, but she loved it, and it took less energy to apply it than to shift her appearance. Besides, she wanted to look awake and refreshed tonight. After a second coat along her lashes, she was done with her eyes. She’d used a smoky technique for her shadow, and it greatly enhanced her dark eyes. She applied only a hint of blush to enhance and to define her already high cheekbones. A pink lipstick was smoothed over her full lips, and she was done with her face. Her hair was a simple enough matter: just a part down the middle and her hair was arranged so the curls swooped outward.
After squeezing herself into a cute maroon mini-dress which showed off her assets beautifully, she accessorized with gold bangles and golden, strappy heels. Overall, her look was very party friendly, but she didn’t think she’d overdone it. Sure, most college people went in jeans and t-shirts, but she always believed in dressing for the occasion, and she always loved to stand out. She knew that her current look would definitely draw plenty of gazes.
Maya left her dorm and headed from Naur to Shae. Sure, the party was sure to be lame, and the party she was planning with Micah would be a hell of a lot better, but free alcohol and making an appearance was always worth it. A lot of people knew her face, and some knew even more than that, but overall, she was pretty popular with the crowds. The jinni was beautiful and usually the life of the party. Women wanted to be her, and people wanted to be with her regardless of their genders. She was like a magnet, and that was just the way she liked it.
When she arrived, the door was open, so she just stepped right into the masses. The dorm was a lot like hers which was also a one-room affair. She was glad that she and Micah had decided to have their future party at his apartment. Her dorm would be too small for what they had planned, and it would probably be broken up too quickly if they had it on campus. In fact, for the size of this little Shae party, she was surprised it was still going on at all.
A lot of people were dancing, but there would still the usual loungers on the couch or against the walls. Maya was fashionably late, and she was ready to party, but first, she needed a drink. She moved to where the beverages were displayed, and she noticed someone had set up shop as the party’s personal bartender. It happened at a lot of them, and she doubted he was paid to do it.
He smiled at her as she approached. “What can I do for you?” He asked suggestively.
A small smile played over her lips and she leaned toward him, giving him a good view of the swell of her breasts. “How about a White Russian to start me off?” He mixed the drink for her, and she took it and sipped, her tongue sliding over her lips to catch any residue. The look in his blue eyes became heated, and she could have sworn the colour darkened. “Delicious. You should think about a career in this.”
It was then that a cute Asian girl stepped over to them. Her eyes were green, and she was pretty, but the “bartender” didn’t even glance at her because he was too engrossed in the exotic beauty of the jinni.
“That looks good. What is it?” The girl asked sociably about Maya’s drink.
