“I do not know if the frequency of sexual acts between mates is determined by the desire to procreate or to feel the physical pleasure. I imagine it would be different for each pair as it is on Earth. I apologize that I am not able to give you my personal angle on the matter.” Dhivael was open about her lack of experience, for she saw no reason why she should be ashamed of a simple fact.
“That sounds acceptable.” Dhivael responded. She had already had something called Star Trek mentioned to her as something she should watch, but she suspected that a man who taught anthropology would likely have educated ideas about what media would better aid in her understanding of Earthlings and their attributes – including humor. The Rihan female saw this as a challenge, and she was ready to meet it. “Will your recommendations be of scripted encounters or will they chronicle encounters that occur in reality?”
When Dhivael asked Professor Gideon Whyte, he seemed to grow even more animated than before that point. “It is evident that had you had everything you wanted, you would have stayed. Even with my limited emotional understanding, I am able to comprehend that many require mental and physical stimulation in order to achieve something greater.” After all, was that not why she was studying on Earth? She could have stayed on ch’Havran; she could have become mated and started a family. Instead, she chose to obtain understanding in a new and different, often dangerous, environment. “I find it curious that so many declare a desire to have a simple life, but when they receive it, they are unsatisfied. Was it through your family’s wealth that you had everything you may have thought you’d wanted, or did you work your way toward it only to discover your true desires were different?”
