“We do not have nearly as many separate countries as Earth, but we do have a few. Depending on the region, there are different customs, but they are largely the same with the same government policies. Like Earth, ch’Havran does have a few different races due to evolutionary forces, but they are not as diverse as Earth.” She paused, considering whether or not telling him about the weather would be breach of the no-interference policy. It did deal with science to a degree, but it didn’t seem like something he could really use to further the technology of his own planet. “My planet has two stars around which it orbits, so it is very warm all over, but there are places where it is cooler such as the poles of ch’Havran and places where it is warmer around the equator. They are similar to Earth’s in that respect.”
Dhivael considered his next question. “Rihannsu are very efficient people. There is rarely dissent among them or discontentment with the governmental systems the way there is on Earth. We elect our leaders, but there is not the same battle to win votes as Earthlings in democracies have portrayed. I suppose your idea of peace could be applied to my people, for we have not had wars for many centuries.” She watched as he wrote her words into his notebook.
When he finished his questions, a curious look passed over his face, one she could not discern. Perhaps he was simply thinking about the possibilities of life on other planets. Her thoughts trailed back to the idea of witches, and a question occurred to her. “Among some people, I have heard the idea of a fifth element, one that would likely be more difficult to grasp. In my mind, it is not an element at all, but if people consider its existence, it may be possible. As a witch, would you know anything about the supposed element of ‘spirit?’”
