Gideon had just finished reading SPIRITUAL LIFE: DNA project links us all to Adam and Eve online and was getting up to make his third mug of tea, when a knock came on his door. Stepping from behind his desk, the darkly handsome professor opened the door to look into the blue-green eyes of Brandon Kane, a Junior at Alden University. Gideon had been carrying a torch for Isabelle, Alden’s Demon Art professor, but so far nothing had come of it. Standing this close to the son of Apollo, Gideon thought Brandon could sure keep him satisfied until Isabelle succumbed to his charms. The young demigod oozed sexuality to the point that the professor wondered if he had to boost his protective talismans.
“Professor? Professor Whyte?”, Brandon cleared his throat to get the handsome professor’s attention. “Here are the books you requested. I was in the library and volunteered to run them up”. The blond demigod handed them to Gideon, touching his hand for as long as possible as he did so. The professor bit back a sigh and made a point to studiously check each book, “Bringing Ritual to Mind : Psychological Foundations of Cultural Forms, Concept of Goddess, Ethnographer’s Eye: Ways of Seeing in Anthropology, Forensic Anthropology: Case Studies from Europe. Yes, they all seem to be here.” He smiled and set them on his desk. “Thank you, young man…”
“Brandon”, the young demigod offered.
“Thank you, Brandon”, Professor Whyte corrected. “I don’t believe I’ve ever had you, have I?”, he smiled, “I mean, you’ve never been in any of my classes, have you, young man? I think I would have remembered you.”
The handsome demigod smiled devilishly and puffed out his broad chest, “No sir, but I think you may have me this semester. I’ve suddenly become very interested in Anthropology”, he boldly looked the older man up and down, “I took the liberty of skimming through the books you ordered”, he lied. The obvious lie made both of them smile.
With a hand shake, Professor Whyte bid Brandon have a wonderful day and closed the door to his office. Returning to his teapot, Gideon spoke softly to himself, “What was I thinking?! Flirting like that with a student! It’s against policy and I’m old enough to be his bloody father!” Setting his new books to the side, he took his mug of tea back to the computer and settled in. It was only around twenty minutes after Brandon’s exit that another knock came to his door. Could the young man have returned? That would be extremely inappropriate and put him in a very awkward spot. Setting his Wicked mug down, Gideon walked to his door and opened it, finding a very lovely young woman looking at him, “Yes? May I help you, young lady?”
