"Yeah, I think it would be pretty dangerous for us humans to go here if we didn't have some sort of protection. I mean, I practically threw myself at my roommate. The poor guy was totally caught off guard and I felt like the biggest idiot when I came to my senses. We would all be very impulsive without these things, I think." She touched the talisman and then took another bite of her cookie.
Danni grinned at the compliment. "Thanks. Usually I keep it tucked under my shirt so people can't see it. But it goes with what I'm wearing today so I left it out." She gave a lopsided grin and glanced down at it again.
"A mermaid. Really? Wow. That's so cool." After her run-in with Desmond, she didn't really find the Supernatural all that frightening. Of course, she'd never had a frightening experience with any of them, either. They all seemed to be very kind to her. "So, you get a tail when your legs get wet? Do you feel like you want to be in the water all the time?"
"Me? Oh... about a month. Since the summer semester started. I'm a freshman, but I decided to get a jump on it. Plus I wanted to start practicing with the gymnastics team so that I at least have a shot of making the team when they do try-outs next month." She took a breath, and finished her cookie, wiping her crumbed fingers on the knees of her pants. "What about you?"
Looking at the drawing made Danni feel a little bit haunted, but she wasn't sure why. "Who are you drawing?" She felt a little niggling sensation in her brain that told her she knew the person on the page, but she wasn't quite sure.
