"I am concentrating in vocal music, but I do want to learn to play an instrument or two. Those of my race tend to have perfect pitch, which helps in both vocal and instrumental music. Though it is our voices from which our power comes." She explained more seriously. "I am not sure how it is on your planet, but here it isn't a common thing for kids to grow up and be exactly what their parents wanted for them."
"I don't know a lot about classic literature." She said even though she had read more then a few of his works, she thought it would mess up the live in the moment happy go lucky imagine she liked to show people.
She laughed again and shook her head. "Google is just a search engine I know. But it is fun to speak of it as a none as well as a verb. Google had made my life so much easier. Like just the other day this guy started talking about this comic book. I had no idea what he was talking about so I googled it and now I know. It was silly just so you know."
"Well we do have a reason to refine our skills. If we are a team and we wish to win, we must take the time to practice as a team, even if we have a while before the first meet." She said with a smile. "But thank you." She added after a moment.
The Ocean around where I live is actually very clean. We take pride in it as if it was a part of where we lived, and really for us it is. If the ocean is unhealthy, then we are also unhealthy." She said firmly. "Even if we do not have a direct connection to his like a mer-person or a nymph."
"Long ago it was. We don't do things like that any more, but back in the old times, human ships were seen as a food source." She explained with a frown, blushing a bit. "I.. I try not to use them for selfish reasons, I like to more talk people into relaxing or cheering up. I feel like if I use my gift to get someone into bed, it is kind of like... rape. I mean they don't really have a choice at that point." She said looking down at her food as she spoke.
"No no no. Not cool as in the temperature, so as in neat or interesting. It is a slang term in English that is used quite often." She told the other girl with a laugh once again.
"Home sick more means that you miss home and the people you left behind to be here." She said reading out to touch the other girl's hand in a comforting way. "I have never left the island on which I was born. So I do get a bit homesick at times. You don't miss your home?"
"Yeah I haven't really found a good place to get a burger around here, back on the island there was this place on the beach that had the best burgers and fries. I'll have to take you there sometime maybe. I think it is called a hamburger because.. maybe a hand burger... it was something you held in your hand, and then it was just shortened. Like if you hear about a hotdog, must of those are not actually made of dog."
"The taste. Food is cooked to taste good! Well most is anyway. How can you not enjoy a nice crisp apple? Or a juicy steak made on an open fire. It is apart of what makes life worth living!" She said with a grin looking at the other girl.
"Well rubbing alcohol cleans wounds, you shouldn't drink that stuff cause it taste nasty and really it is more concentrated poison then beer or wine or whiskey or vodka. It is a drug so it does make people act funny, but that is just because it lets most people relax. It is called impairing their judgment, but there is a freedom about it I like."
"Well there a kinds of fun that life mates only like you to do with them." She said trying to explain. "And those are the kinds of fun I don't think I would like doing with only one person for the rest of my life." She told Dhivael. "Have you ever kissed anyone?" She asked suddenly curious.
Kaydence smiled up at the girl brightly, her eyes doing a once over of the girls form. "We are not restrictive at this table." She said pulling out the chair next to herself. "I'm Kaydence... call me Kay, you are?"
"Dhibael is not from around here so we were just talking about all the weird things us earthlings do." Kay said with a cheerful smile, she had been enjoying the conversation so far.
