"My parents named me Kaydence because they wished me to be a singer and before because my my races natural aptitude for such things." She told Dhivael. "I am actually a music major here, so I guess that got their wish." She added with a laugh.
"I don't know. I mean whenever anyone used your full name it seems like the only reason is you have done something wrong. People just don't go around calling each other by their whole name it would just take too much time I guess." She told her with a shrug.
"I guess you are right, but you know.. I have never met anyone else with my name either." She said with an amused laugh. "So I couldn't really tell you for sure. We could always google it. Google knows everything." She said taking another bite of her salad and sip from her drink.
"Yeah, the swim team here at the school. We are training to complete later this fall." She explained with a nod. "Yeah I hate chlorine, not only does it stay on you, but it drains you when you are in the water. I much prefer swimming in the ocean my self."
She looked away at this question as if she didn't quite know how to answer it. "My people have a.. talent for seduction, and persuading people to do things they would not normally do." She said still not looking at Dhivael.
She looked back at her with a bright smile on her face once again. "That is so cool!" She said clapping her hands together. "And I have been feeling far away from home, I couldn't imagine being on a completely different planet! This must be so exciting for you, are you home sick? I home sick and my home is only like a six hour flight from here."
"Well you have to get a good one. They are a good source of protein if you are eating a nice, well cooked burger. Not some grease sandwich like from Burger King or McDonald's. Where did you eat the burger anyway?"
"Pretty much, I know some races have a bit of a different diet, but Sirens eat what most everyone eats. The thing you are forgetting is taste. We eat things and pick which foods we want by how much enjoyment from their taste we get. Poison? Well mom used to say alcohol was a poison really, but it tastes really good and makes you feel all warm inside. It isn't deadly unless you drink too much of it."
She burst into laughter at the question, she wasn't laughing at Dhivael it was just she thought it was funny how forward the girl was. "A mate, I am really not planning to take a mate. Or at least not for a while. Those kind of relationships confuse the hell out of me actually. I much prefer having fun with friends to having to deal with jealous people."
