He shrugged and pushed off from the railing to return inside. He padded over to a small wooden dresser and opened it to take out a shirt. Rolf put it on and came to sit on the edge of the bed, face briefly buried in his hands.
"Yes," he replied hoarsely. He lifted his eyes to match her gaze. "I went to sleep knowing I would do it the next day and when I awoke I was in that castle. I never got the chance."
