Who: Stahma and YOU!
What: Stahma's found an opportune people-watching place to sit and knit/sew.
When: Wednesday late afternoon
Where: Library in the castle
Warnings: Should be none, but will update if needed!

It was still a bit of an adjustment for Stahma, but she was working on commission with a Castithan shop in the city. She was getting a source of income now, so she was able to make some purchases when she would go into the city. She already had a healthy supply of sewing fabric in varying shades of white, grey and silver. That afternoon she'd decided to go sit somewhere that she could people watch while she worked on her current project, so she'd headed to the library. Finding a place at a table where she could see a good portion of the main floor of the library, Stahma sat down in a chair, set her sewing things on the table in front of her and set about sewing using her Castithan method of sewing.

Even though most of her attention was focused on what she was making, which consisted of silver thread, she was still very aware of her surroundings and of the comings and goings of people. Her lilac eyes would occasionally dart around the area, taking in where people were and anything of potential interest to her. Of course, she found most of it to be positively boring, but it was at least something to do while she sewed. She was dressed in a recently purchased dress. She'd had one exactly like it back on Earth, so she was more than pleased to have it in her closet once again. She always did love seeing potential reactions to the rather daring, according to human standards, neckline. She also wore the cloak Ahsoka had given to her for Christmas. The hood was pulled up, though she'd pinned it in a way that her face was still largely visible. After all, while she may at times like lurking in the shadows, as it were, right now she wished to see and be seen.

Regulus spotted Stahma and made his way towards her. His afternoon wasn’t dictated by a set schedule, he could deviate from the plan of searching for a book.

When he drew close, her ‘sewing’ was the first to draw his attention.

“What are you doing?” He didn’t say it with too much harshness. But he was Regulus after all, he was judging a little bit.

When Stahma noticed movement in her direction, her eyes slid up to focus on Regulus as he approached. Once her eyes had focused on him, she lifted her head, greeting him with a polite smile. The question was not unexpected, Stahma had long come to understand that sewing was done differently by humans. Though Stahma had learned those methods as well. She'd crafted a wedding veil for Christie by her own hand...and behind her husband's back.

"Sewing," she responded simply, not offended in the least by the question or any potential judgement he was giving her. "It no doubt looks strange to you." Or potentially dangerous given the fact three of her fingers had claw-like extensions on them. She continued to weave her new creation, her fingers moving expertly and in a way humans would think was completely unnatural and alien.

Regulus chose to ignore Stahma's odd manners. And he didn't choose to sit just yet. Those extended claws on her hands being one of the reasons.

“It looks like you’re creating what old women do.” He was referring to knitting. His mother had knitted, as a quaint hobby. She’d been quiet proud of her creations but he only smiled and nodded at her attempts and then never wore what she gave him.

It was probably just best to ignore the manners, Stahma had an entirely different set of manners and mannerisms that were largely strange to humans. She was at least always polite in her interactions. It was how a Castithan woman of her caste was to act. Stahma, of course, had more fire in her and sometimes she could be entirely forceful in her interactions, but she tended to keep those to herself until she was ready to show her hand.

Stahma let out an amused laugh at his words, a sparkle entering her lilac eyes as she looked at him. "Perhaps, though I sometimes find it soothing to sew. This, however, will be sold when it is finished." The wide smile on her face no doubt made her look a bit creepy, but it was a genuine smile. She lowered her sewing, pausing but not yet removing the claws from her right hand.

“And,” Regulus astutely observed. “It’s the perfect cover for watching the crowd below.”

He’d caught on to what she was doing the moment he drew close enough to see the clear view she had off the milling groups of people.

“Are you going to share what you’ve observed? Or will that cost me?”

Oh Stahma did like this one. She liked his directness, and he also had a keen and discerning eye from what she'd been able to tell. She hadn't met many humans like him, which is perhaps why she'd taken a liking to him.

"There have been a few interesting things I have seen. As for cost for learning what I have seen, all I ask is for you to join me," she said, motioning to one of the other chairs at the table. She'd let him choose which seat in particular he wanted to sit in. And from there, well, she could share her observations.

Regulus regarded Stahma for hidden meanings. He was always on the lookout for loopholes or pitfalls.

Finally, he decided this wasn’t an unfair exchange. He chose a seat and sat down.

“What have you observed?”
