The past few days had been difficult, to say the least. Claudia's departure had been hard on both Helena and Myka. Helena had grown notably closer with Claudia since she'd arrived here over a year before. She missed Claudia more than she could properly express, and she had a good idea that the same could be said for Myka. It was without a doubt a good thing Helena was currently unemployed as it allowed her to spend more time with Myka and ensure they both got through this without getting stuck in a rut. There were no curiosities to give them distractions, nothing, at least currently, happening in this place to distract them from themselves. Helena had certainly been by Myka's side as long as her girlfriend had wanted her there.
It was certainly a very good thing that Helena had Myka to lean on and support in return. The nights they had spent together since Claudia had returned home had lessened the pain. But of course, being near Myka always acted like a balm for Helena's wounds, that was nothing new. The difference now was that they could lay in each other's embrace, and Helena certainly indulged in that the past several days. Though Helena couldn't quite recall who had come up with the idea to do something in Claudia's honor, if it had been herself or Myka, but they had decided to go to an open mic night. Honoring Claudia would hopefully help them both heal, but it would also do them both some good to get out of the castle for a while. They had gotten a table and listened to the musicians who took to the stage. Supporting the local musicians was something she did enjoy, and she knew Claudia would approve of her and Myka doing this. Helena couldn't help but imagine Claudia being on the stage performing. It was a bittersweet thought, causing some pain to return, but she enjoyed the music as well as being there with Myka.
Once the open mic night was over, Helena headed back to the castle with Myka. The entire way back, Helena couldn't help but have some music running through her head. Despite the fact she was a very competent piano player, Helena didn't consider herself a musician, but there were times where she would sit and play music to express things she otherwise couldn't. Music always had resonated with her, be it attending the symphony, the opera or simply listening to a solo musician play. Helena wanted to do something more to honor Claudia as well as express more of her feelings on the matter. Words hadn't exactly been her strong point when it came to talking about Claudia being gone, especially knowing what awaited her at home.
So once they were back in the castle, Helena took Myka's hand in her own. "Before we retire for the evening, there is something I wish to do, and I would like you to come with me." Pausing for only a moment, Helena headed towards the ballroom, keeping Myka's hand in her own as she went.
