There was a definitely difference in him when he was sober versus drunk, but Carol saw the same thing that she always saw, just in a different light. She cared about him no matter how he acted, and no matter how upset he got with her. She always saw a good man in Daryl, he just didn't see it. She also saw a lot of emotion there too, he just wasn't really all that good at dealing with it, unfortunately. He'd get there one day, she hoped.
Feeling the weight of his arm around her shoulders definitely let Carol know that he was there. He was a bit all over the place, actually. She had never thought of Daryl being this uncoordinated. It was strange for her to be the coordinated one of the two, even if just for a short time, actually. It was nice to know that he didn't mind the fact that they were so close at the moment too. Though, she was just helping him back to his room. She'd definitely remember the way he'd rested his head on her shoulder, even if he wouldn't.
She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face right now, though. He might not have meant that he forgave her, but he had been talking more lately and she'd take it for now because it felt nice to be around him again. "How about we compromise and say we were both in the wrong?" She suggested as they reached the door; Carol pushed the door open further and it took some maneuvering, but she got him through the threshold, pulling the door shut behind them. "I don't even think you were this drunk back at the CDC." She pointed out, starting to move toward the bedroom that was his.
