Padmé had felt disappointed when Friday evening had come around and she had found herself suffering the effects of morning sickness. It wasn't a very aptly named way to summarize the ill-effects of pregnancy, as it was quite common for morning sickness not to happen in the morning. It was almost unfair. But postponing it hadn't been very problematic, so it had been swapped to Monday night.
She had arranged for the meal to be brought up to the room (lemon chicken, a small spinach side salads, and a side of broccoli soup.) The younger Anakin had gone off to be under the watchful care of Helena Wells. The dining area was as set as it could be. Everything was set, outside of the arrival of Leia and Han.
Padmé was unsure how things would go, but Leia had agreed that she wanted the dinner. She had said it would be nice to finally work past their faults and differences and become a real family. Padmé couldn't wish for more but, of course, that put a good deal of pressure on the situation if thought of in great detail. She was trying to avoid that and, rather, focus on the moment. In the moment, she had just scooped Sonya up into her arms. She intended to put the cat away in their room to avoid her potentially getting underfoot. She didn't rush to put the cat away, though, instead lingering for a moment with the purring furry creature.
