Janice Rand had a beehive hairstyle, though it was somewhat "Trek" styled, in the original series. Claudia figured the Mrs. F reminder would make it easy enough for H.G. to remember that aspect, but the movies didn't even make a big deal about Janice being back. That was a good deal of behind the scenes and extra-geek details that confirmed the blond woman was actually Janice, so she figured necessity would require the pop culture nerd to point it out.
