"Black tea leaves, right? Uh - a little sugar, please." Claudia asked after a moment, her mind needing to catch up with the idea. Black tea leaves had been what Claudia had gotten H.G. for her arrival in her care packages. Steve's little welcome gift had been reassembled with cookies and some of his favorite tea carefully stashed away in Ziploc bags. Pete's Ziploc bag held chocolate chip. Artie's held Oatmeal Scotchies. Leena - Claudia had never really been able to figure out what to put in one for Leena. And, somehow, she doubted she'd need to worry about it. Still, her mind strayed to the Ziplocs and the larger storage container they were in. After a moment she stood up and went over to it, returning with the Oatmeal Scotchies. "I need to eat these and put new in, so they don't get stale, so we may as well eat them."
She flopped back into the chair. "And pretty much. They added the character back later once they made 'Star Trek movies' and - there are some books that fill the time between and explain why the character herself left, but that's kind of boring." Considering the explanation was that Janice Rand had become pregnant with Kirk's child, and had gone to have her in secret and then stayed away because the child had a fatal illness, Claudia decided to skip over explaining the details. Janice's daughter died, quite young... and of all the things Claudia didn't want to dig into as a "storyline," that was one of the top ones. "They made a 'reboot' where the first Spock went into an alternate reality on accident, thus effected the timeline and changed his entire future and - all of the details. There were actually a few people from the 'reboot' around here for awhile, and I thought about asking for autographs, but they kind of kept to themselves."
