"Nope, and while I've been here a month - some people have supposedly been here over a year." Darcy said with a small shrug, crossing her arms and pausing in the doorway of the room. "No one knows who's doing it, how they're doing it, or any of it. We can come and go freely into the city and stuff, so it doesn't really make sense. Who sets up a most-expenses-paid vacation?"
"The $100 helps to get a few outfits, if you shop somewhere affordable, but that doesn't handle pajamas, robe, slippers, shoes, winter jacket, swimsuit, sunglasses - once it hits summer, I mean. There's a pool out back. And that isn't mentioning an iPod or a computer instead of the little cellphone, even if it is a cool cellphone." She grinned a little, "And some people have pets, which means expenses. I was thinking about getting a pet once I had a job, but I guess a roommate is just as good and less work necessary."
"And I'm calm about it because -" Darcy paused, trying to think why it was. "Well, you probably wouldn't believe me or it would melt your brain on top of everything else. Basic details, what I was doing right before I came here was so much weirder. And supposedly whenever anyone leaves, all of their stuff vanishes. If they had a way to make us able to return, they took it home with them. Are you a science sort of person?"
