This was most certainly quite the adventure, even without the security they were going through to get to their destination. Any time one stepped into a laboratory it was an adventure, even when Helena had done this precise procedure multiple times in the past. It was how she'd created cavorite in the first place. She'd melted down and analyzed all the known metals, carefully studying their chemical properties. Once she'd gotten to the point of actually combining various metals to create the cavorite, she had somewhat underestimated the power the new metal would have. As such, she might have once blown the roof off of the laboratory she'd been creating the cavorite in. And by "blowing the roof off" it was more like the roof flew off in once piece. The rate at which cavorite generated an anti-gravity area of effect had been far greater than she'd anticipated. Or she had just made a larger batch than she'd intended for testing purposes. Nevertheless, such things did happen in experiments.
But today was not for experimenting. Today was for discovering the properties of vibranium. After discovering its chemical properties, she would then put her knowledge of metals together to forge something as close to vibranium as she could get in this world. And then she'd need to sneak in here once again to make the metal itself, but that was for further down the road.
"Thank you, Anakin, I do greatly appreciate this." She gave him a smile after stepping into the room. Helena was fully aware this was breaking rules, but she was no stranger to breaking rules. So this was just another day in the life and she wasn't bothered by it. She did have a conscience, it just was a twisted one in most cases.
Moving to the back of the room, she looked over the available equipment, checking the cupboards and drawers, taking stock of where things were. After doing a quick run down of that, she started pulling out the things she needed. First she grabbed a Bunsen Burner and hooked it up, then she grabbed a triangle which she affixed to a little metal rod sticking out of the table near the burner she'd set up. She positioned the triangle so that it would be directly over the flame. She checked the height and muttered to herself, thinking it would be good enough. She then took out a crucible and set it on the table. Out of her pocket, she pulled out the sample she'd taken from the shield James had. She placed the metal in the crucible. She then opened a drawer and pulled out a lighter. She reached out and turned the handle slowly, turning on the gas and then used the lighter to light the Bunsen Burner. Getting through that part unscathed, she made a slight adjustment to the positioning of the triangle over the open flame. Once that was done, she carefully placed the crucible on the triangle.
Glancing over at Anakin, she did briefly wonder about his comment of welcoming her to the ranks of the morally challenged. Turning her attention back to what she was doing, she went about grabbing a few other things she would need once the metal had melted down so she could analyze its make up.
"Forgive my broaching the subject, and if you do not wish to discuss it at any length, all you need do is say so and it shall be dropped. But your comments about the morally challenged leads me to believe you have either done something or been through something that caused that?" It was a painful subject, but Helena thought if she had someone to talk to who had been in a similar position to herself, who understood what it meant to have a dark side, perhaps it would help her in her quest to be a better person.
