OMFG! Anakin might do ~something~ *pearl clutch* ([info]darkforcerising) wrote in [info]makebelievelog,
Anakin nodded in agreement, he understood this all too well.

“I suppose we could thank the building security for making this more of an adventure.”

Not all Jedi training involved flight lessons. And the spaceships in the Jedi Order’s ports weren’t accessible by an unsupervised Youngling. As a child at the Temple he often longed for the days when he could sit in a cockpit again, a cockpit of anything really, but was constrained by the schedule Obi-Wan set for him. This desire was the main reason he snuck down so often to the lower levels of Coruscant to participate in illegal racing through the labyrinth of the city’s bowels.

They’d reached a lab door that, when one peered through the thin, rectangular window they could see the lights were off and it was empty of students or faculty. He verified the room number – he’d checked what was available in each of the labs of the building earlier in the day. This was the lab they wanted.

This door had a security lock on it as well, and as before, Anakin reached through the Force to open it. He hit the light switches located to the side of the door as he walked in.

“Here you go.” He waved an arm gesturing to the whole room. “Everything is at your disposal. If some equipment you need isn’t here we can find it somewhere in this building.”

He then stepped to the side and claimed a stool for himself. He set the single folder he’d been carrying down on the table and opened it. Come the winter semester he would have to replace three research assistants, before him sat the tedious task of reviewing the applications of hopeful students looking to fill the coveted research roles. He did, in moments like this, long for a day back in the trenches on Ryloth or Thule, or maybe just the excitement of the battle.
