He may be Vader someday later, but now he's ([info]justasmallfry) wrote in [info]makebelievelog,
Anakin wasn’t sure how sorry the man actually was, but whatever misgivings the Force may be highlighting for him they weren’t strong premonitions for either good or ill. So Anakin accepted the man at his word. He’d long since learned before entering the rolls of the Temple adults rarely liked having their motives questioned. He wasn’t looking to pick a fight, unafraid though he may be, he could accurately deduce a fight with this man left him at a blaringly obvious disadvantage.

R2-D2’s next beep sounded more like a burb, which Anakin knew meant the droid was unmoved, but, thankfully, the droid remained silent after that. An indication R2 wouldn’t put up anymore protest.

“I’m Anakin,” Anakin offered, “And this is Artoo.”

Anakin still had much of the kindness and willingness to assist anyone and everyone unconditionally Master Qui Gon had noticed in him years before back on Tatooine. Having only been at the Temple for less than three years, he’d yet to re-focus that compassion in the manner the Order and his masters expected of him. Though Piotr had made a mistake in his identification of R2, Anakin saw no reason to not explain this place as he understood it to this new arrival.

“You’re in the Land of Make Believe. The planet you’re on is called Imagination. If you leave the castle and go that way,” he pointed east, “you’ll be in the city called New Creandi. You’ve been kidnapped, like the rest of us. And you can’t go back home until they send you home.” And then he added, “Sorry,” because some people found this new upsetting.
