OMFG! Anakin might do ~something~ *pearl clutch* ([info]darkforcerising) wrote in [info]makebelievelog,
Anakin, pleased that H. G. approved of his space and wouldn’t be chiding him for the mess, nodded when she broke off to search the piles for her own creative endeavors. He could already tell there was some emotional turmoil roiling under the surface of her cool demeanor, but as she was not trying to kill him, her motives for digging through his junk heap where hers alone for the time being. If her emotions started barraging his senses unceasingly, he might have a few words then, but not before.

He was about to turn back to his own work when his senses did pick up something loud approaching. In the vocal ranges as well as the emotional and mental, as the younger version of himself who was quickly drawing near the room had yet to learn how to properly contain his feelings the majority of the time. And, Anakin would guess the boy had the willing and captive audience of R2-D2, based on the boy’s loquaciousness.

Ani got about three steps into the room before Anakin held up his hand and said, “Wait.” The boy, wide eyes turned to his elder self, did as instructed and whatever he’d been explaining to the droid at his heels died on his tongue. R2-D2 took one more second to accept the command and didn’t stop until he bumped into the back of Ani’s legs.

“Did Master Obi-Wan dunk you and Artoo in the lake?” Anakin asked, dubiously looking at the layer of mud and forest detritus clinging to the boy and his droid. “Or did he drop the lake on you?”

Ani cracked a grin and looked down. He laughed a bit when he looked up, “Ya. Something like that.” He was hardly perturbed by his appearance. Maybe even proud.

But just another step in and he did notice the new person in the room. He stopped again. His, up until then, bubbly personality retreated to be replaced by the emotionless one he’d been working so hard to perfect at the Temple. He didn’t know this woman, or how to proceed around her, until he did he would be silent and observant.

“Ani,” Anakin caught onto whom the boy had fixated and made the introduction, “this is H. G. Wells. H. G. this is Anakin, uh, also.”
