As the flames incased her body instantly disintegrating her into ashes she shot up in bed screaming. There was not a piece of her body that wasn't in excruciating pain. She could feel the flames as if they had actually engulfed her body. Her right foot echoing the pain of having been broken and then scorched. It was all too much. Throwing back the covers on the bed she began pulling at the shirt she was wearing to bed. She had to get the clothes off of her body as it was almost as if they were absorbing the heat from her nightmare. As she pulled her shirt off Myka couldn't stop her body from shaking and the sobs to start. It had been so real. The bomb, finding a way to save themselves, her falling and then knowing the end was near.
She remembered just before the timer went off Helena saying that she loved her. The fact that Helena having gotten to safety not registering as she had bowed her head bracing for the blast. The blast had been more excruciating than she could have imagined. With her body bare save for her underwear she rocked back and forth. Why, why did she have to dream such a vivid dream. As if that day didn't haunt her everyday she had to have an almost lifelike remembrance only this time she had died and Helena had gotten to safety. Sleep was going to be hard to come by for a long time. It had taken Helena's soothing voice to lull her to sleep in the first place. Especially after watching what happened in their future. Myka continued to rock back and forth saying, "No, no, no" over and over.
