With the nod, Helena looked at the compass, taking it as Myka gave it to her. She'd heard of it, but had never come close to having seen it or find it. Helena focused on the compass, turning it this way and that. She wasn't going to try to activate it until she had all the pieces of the puzzle. As Myka gave her the instructions, she glanced up at her for a moment, then nodded, turned her attention back to the compass as she followed them. Though while her attention was on the compass, she hadn't noticed Myka had fallen. Not until she looked up to wait for Myka to come back so she could do the last step and teleport them to safety. But when she saw Myka on the ground, her heart clenched. No, no this wasn't how it was supposed. Helena hesitated, looking at Myka as tears filled her eyes. No, she couldn't do this. She couldn't leave Myka. She'd stay here with her to ensure she didn't die alone. But then she knew she had to ensure that this was fixed, that Sykes didn't win.
"Myka," she said and drew in a breath. She would find a way to turn back tie and save Myka. She couldn't lose her, not like this. Helena loved her and she wasn't going to let this stand. "I love you," she said with a little smile. With that, she completed the final step of the compass and a bubble formed around her, her eyes never leaving Myka. Just as the timer went off, a couple tears rolled down her cheeks and she was teleported away in the nick of time.
