So many emotions and thoughts were going through her mind that Myka was unable to keep up with them. Whenever she was in Helena's presence her ability to control what went through her mind ceased. She couldn't even lie as the other woman would know instantly. Even with Helena's scent permeating the room and having seen her, Myka still wasn't certain she was actually there. When she'd been stored on the Janus Coin she'd been able to speak to her and see her. There was no guarantee that this wasn't a figment of her imagination. Her mind conjuring up the image of Helena so that she could begin to process the ramifications of the explosion. When a hand touched her shoulder she breathed in deeply. There was no denying that she was in fact real. No one other than Helena could convey so much with a simple touch.
The silence in the room would be uncomfortable for most but not for them. It was comforting. After a few moments Myka turned so that she could face Helena. The hand on her shoulder slipping as she moved. Her own hands having moved to rest in her lap. Her eyes locking with those of the woman sat beside her. The minute their gazes locked a small tear escaped from Myka's eye with more threatening to spill. She had kept it together up until now. But sitting here besides Helena was tearing down those shields piece by piece.
