WHO: Mara Jade & ickle Anakin Skywalker
WHAT: Mara explores the castle.
WHEN: Monday.
WHERE: Her room then the library.
RATING/WARNINGS: None.
STATUS: Closed/Complete.

If the chrono on the mini-datapad like device she’d been given was accurate this was her second day in the Land of Make Belief and Mara Jade wasn’t much inclined to stretch that into day three, four, five, or six, which meant it was more than time for her to go out and do some exploring to see if it was possible to leave. Everyone had said it wasn’t, of course, but everyone was not her and she’d gotten out of more ridiculous scenarios and with far more adversity than this one appeared to be on the surface. That didn’t mean she was about to underestimate the possibilities, but it did mean that she wasn’t going to take the word of a half-dozen people she didn’t know as the final authority on whether or not it was possible to leave.

She had spent most of the previous day exploring the castle as discretely as she could do and had discovered that her first cover – holiday – had been more accurate than she had originally supposed. The place did look like a first class resort on one of the many planets that catered to tourism and the elite of the galaxy. It was as posh as anything she had stayed in during her days as the Emperor’s Hand and a good deal more posh than anything she had stayed in, well legally stayed in, since.

She clipped her lightsaber to her belt and thought that even if she didn’t intend to stay for very long she ought to find something in the way of a change of clothes. What she was wearing was comfortable, yes, but it had been two days’ worth of comfortable and a change would be a good idea. Perhaps as she looked for a way to escape she ought to also look for clothing. She slid the credits she’d discovered in the room into her pocket as well before she left the room. She felt naked without her blasters, but at least she’d been left her lightsaber and truthfully she could do a fair amount of damage with it should that be necessary.

She didn’t particularly encourage conversation among any beings she met as she walked down the hall and towards a set of stairs. Perhaps some of them could have given her further information and some of them perhaps not, but either way she wasn’t particularly in the mood to hold conversations in the middle of a hall – particularly as she had not vetted said hall for bugging devices. That might be a pointless concern under the circumstances, but she couldn’t quite ditch the feeling that this might not all be some massive psychological experiment. After all, Anakin Skwalker was dead – quite dead – and he’d seemed young and rather not dead. And had also seemed not remotely confused when she’d mentioned his son, and yet she was fairly certain Vader hadn’t known of Luke’s existence until he’d been much older, and well, Lord Vader. She tucked that away to ponder and perhaps even ask Anakin about later. As she passed a room she glanced through the crack in the door and found herself staring at books – perhaps this was the library and if so, perhaps it might answer a few questions of its own.

“Hello?” she pushed the door open gently and stepped into the room. A map and perhaps some further information on this world she was in wouldn’t go amiss, and hopefully she could uncover both in relative peace and quiet.
