Helena Wells-Quinzel is H.G. Wells ([info]indelibleink) wrote in [info]makebelievelog,
So perhaps the fact that Claudia had the tea leaves and biscuits prepared for her potential arrival should have tipped Helena off to the fact that the younger techie didn't hold a grudge against her. But Helena wasn't really reading that deeply into things right now because she was still trying to process things. As such, she had a tight grip on the box containing the tea leaves. The grip was tighter than what was necessary to ensure she didn't drop the box. Subconsciously, or perhaps just as a reaction, she was trying to reaffirm to herself that she was alive and not a hologram.

"So this would more or less prove that there are multiple dimensions. Fascinating," because leave it to the science enthusiast to cling to that theory. If only the scientists of her day had heard that! Imagine the anarchy that would have ensued! Though even as her mind started to ponder that information, she listened to the other things Claudia told her. "Artifact-like things? So like suffering the effects of an Artifact but only without it being caused by an Artifact." Which didn't quite make sense, at least until Claudia explained that magic was real. "Oh! So it is a magical cause instead of an Artifact embued with a certain power from its original owner." She nodded once, mostly to herself, and set the box of tea leaves on the counter, then went about making tea. "So if magic exists, does that mean things we think of as fairytales exist?" She glanced over at Claudia briefly, waiting for confirmation or denial.
