"Crap, crap, crap." Claudia shook her hand as coffee sloshed out of the small hole in the plastic-lidded Styrofoam cup and hit her skin. Running up the stairwell with coffee in hand hadn't been one of her brightest ideas, but she didn't care. The X-Men guy lurking around the castle had Claudia well aware of the doppelganger issue, but this was actually Steve!

Even if she had seen the TV show and knew that eventually Steve would be okay and rid of the metronome, she had come from a point right after the literal loss of hope with Steve in a morgue freezer somewhere. She hadn't had the experience of bringing him back, of talking it out, of meeting his mother. Knowing it helped, but not seeing Steve for 9 months outside of a TV screen made the show seem a little unreal. That and the fact that it was supposedly a fictional TV show -

She stopped her scramble right next to the door and paused, shifting the coffee cup to her other hand and wiping the traces of the now cooled down liquid off on her jeans before knocking twice and stating loudly, "Room service. Open up or I will be walking in without permission, Sir."
