"Skywalker?" Ariadne paused, glancing at the young boy's face to try and place the familiarity with an older existing adult. She knew enough of Star Wars to know that after Anakin, the term 'Padawan' was outdated. That was definitely a term from the new movies. "Are you - Anakin?"
"And, well-" Ariadne sat the sketchpad down on the floor and held up one of the pencils for the boy to see. "This is a watercolor pencil. The lead of the pencil, the inside part, is different. It's a color pigment and the pencil pigment is water soluble. This is a watercolor pad, so the paper is a bit thicker than normal paper. With the little brush, a little water on the brush, and control, it settles like watercolor paint after."
"Does that make sense?" Ariadne wasn't one to underestimate kids. She did know they caught on to a lot more than she would've guessed, but she also knew she used a lot of random terms. She didn't want to confuse him. "And you can just call me 'Ariadne,' if you'd like."
