Olive paused. What Alice was saying didn't jive with Olive's understanding of how medical education worked. Doctors went to school, studied for years to build up credentials for a field where credentials were not just a 'nice thing' to have to back you up, but where necessary to show proof of the knowledge you promised you had, to the helping you navigate the legal minefield that was practicing medicine.
But Olive was one to see things from a positive, benefit of the doubt kind of way. And wouldn't dismiss Alice outright.
"Oh," she said, biting her lower lip, "if you don't have a medical degree or license what kind of training do you have?"
