Anakin listened intently, nodding as Padmé listed off items of preparation. His eyes found focus on the trees in the distance as she came to the discussion of guests. He had not, in fact, told Obi-Wan when the ceremony would take place. There was an ever widening gulf between him and his former master, it had started well before arriving here (if Anakin had to put a starting point it might have been around the time the Council and Obi-Wan had used him and his emotions – which he was simultaneously chastised for having – to perpetuate the cover of Obi-Wan’s supposed assassination.) But that gap had only expanded now that Obi-Wan had lived through Anakin’s fall. And because of it there were fewer and fewer avenues of communication available between them.
“I have not told him,” he confessed. He wasn’t about to lie about it, not to Padmé.
