Who: Rose Tyler and Anakin
What: A random meet up
When: Backdated to Friday
Where: The stables
Rating/Warnings: Low
Status: Incomplete/Closed

Rose was already feeling the boredom hit here. There was just nothing to do really and it was getting annoying just going to work, eating then coming home again. It was exactly what she didn't want in her life and yet she was stuck doing it every single day. It was why she went out whenever she could and explored. It just gave her the hope that this wasn't all there was in life here. The hope that one day she'd come across something incredible and it would be like travelling again.

Or she'd find a way out.

That may seem unlikely at times but right now she refused to believe it. No matter where a person ended up, there was always a way out. Even if they had been brought without their consent as everyone had here. Though she did know that not everyone hated being here, which seemed strange to her, but right now it didn't matter. It wasn't like she could do much about it without help. So she pulled on her trainers deciding that she needed more than a walk today. Continuing to run was something that could keep her sane.

She ran for quite some time and when she came back she simply walked around the castle a little. However, a noise from within the stables got her attention and she walked in and glanced around. Once she noticed a guy though, she stopped and ran a hand over her forehead.

"Hello." She might as well talk to anyone she finds.

Anakin stood at a table in the back of the stall, an array of different parts lay there before him. Unlike the empty room he had acquisitioned for making and breaking droids this stall was clean, and the parts on the table were uniformly situated. That room was for working through frustrations, this stall was for crafting something sustainable. There were a few parts ready built that Anakin could convert to his needs, but the majority of the speeder bike would need to be built from scratch.

He was taking notes, with a primitive pencil and paper instead of a datapad, just then. His words were the only jumbled mess around him just then. Penmanship was still a necessary skill on Coruscant, so many planets utilized that form of communication Galactic travelers would be hard up if they found themselves in a situation where they lacked the skill but couldn’t use datapads, but Anakin found that area of study dull and arduous compared to the others. And the lack of dedication showed in scratching he tried to pass off as letters. But he was a snobbish sort about his appliances, if the picked up one of those pads this world had to offer, he would lose himself in trying to improve its programing and hardware to match the specifications he was used to back home. It would be a lost day or two, so he persisted with the pencil and paper.

He’d felt the person enter the stables. There was no malice about them so he continued with his task uninterrupted.

When they spoke up his hand stopped mid-sentence and he looked over his shoulder. The woman was young, blond and he could tell she’d just come from a run. He did not recognize her beyond a face in the crowd that lived in the castle. “Hello,” he returned the greeting. “Can I help you?”

She was starting to feel a little stupid for saying hello to him now considering she didn't exactly know him. But again she focused on the fact that she needed a few more people to talk to and if she didn't say hello and try to start up conversations with people in the first place then she'd be in trouble. At least he seemed nice and didn't appear to be dismissing her outright. Yes she had no good reason to interrupt him beyond friendly chatting but he wasn't telling her to leave him alone so she was getting somewhere. At the moment. He still had the chance to brush her away when he wanted really.

"Sorry I...I just heard a noise. Got curious."

Curiosity had the chance to make her get into a lot of trouble here but after travelling with the Doctor, it was a natural thing. She wanted to know anything and everything and it something caught her attention she'd investigate. And it was a genuine thing to be curious about. Well, so she would claim at least.

[ooc: Sorry if that's too short]

Anakin waited a few seconds for the young woman to say something more or asked for assistance, as he had offered. When she did not, he inclined his head slightly and accepted her explanation. He certainly had no claim on any of the stalls within the stable other than the one in which he had spread his things. Even that was a squatter’s claim, no one had been using it and he had assumed it was up for the taking. No one had objected thus far. She had as much right to pass through the stable as he had to use the space for building his speeder bike.

“Alright,” he said. He even added a brief smile because he’d learned on top of his normally intimidating countenance due to his stature and ingrained bluntness people could not disassociate Darth Vader from their composed idea of him. He didn’t know if this woman knew of his future or past, as of this moment he could feel no fear from her, maybe she had yet to place his face with a name, but to head off the possibility he put a little effort to assuage any anxiety now.

He turned back to his notes, finishing the sentence he had paused on; then, grabbing a component close at hand, pivoted to move from the table to the skeletal chassis to his left. There he squatted, aligning the part so it fit perfectly. When he was satisfied with its position he used the Force to call a tool and some fasteners from the table to his hand, they arched gracefully through the air to his waiting palm. He then set about affixing the component permanently in place.

[OOC: Not a problem]

She couldn't help just staying and watching. It seemed more interesting than the alternative which seemed so incredibly boring. She would just keep walking or running and would spend some time in her home. As much as she loved that idea at times it was not ideal for an every day occurrence. It would drive her mad eventually that was sure. Well, madder than she already was. She moved to lean against the doorway as she continued to watch.

Just as she went to question him, however, a tool went flying across the room carefully. Well that didn't make much of a difference in how she felt about what she was seeing other than her curiosity growing more and more. She did look slightly impressed even though she had witnessed slightly better things in the past. But she wouldn't think on that right now.

"Just what are you doing anyway? And how did you manage that...flying thing?"

: OOC: Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense. I'm dozing off but didn't want you to have to wait another day so it's kinda crappy and possibly has some minimum sense in it xD

Anakin had expected the woman to carry on about her business when he returned to working on the bike. He had assumed wrong, it seemed. By training he wasn’t much for small talk, Jedi didn’t engage in the practice unless it had a purpose. Quite the oxymoron. And being young and impetuous, full of his own Jedi greatness, he’d yet to mellow to the level of his masters and find the skill something worth seeking or developing. As it was, he was quick to the point more and came off as blunt often than not, especially when his mind was focused on other things.

“I’m building a Swoop, a type of speeder-bike.” As he spoke he moved the fasteners into place with the Force, holding the component stead with his hand, and then, with his other he used the tool to secure the fasteners. “The Force is what allows me to call things to me at will.”

"Sounds cool." She wasn't completely sure just what he was talking about but it did sound pretty amazing. She wouldn't mind seeing just what it would be like when completely finished even if he didn't exactly know her well enough to let her have a go or anything like that. But it sounded fun and that was all she focused on right now. That was until he spoke of just how he managed to bring things to him without getting up and picking it up. Though she did wonder at first if he was magical or something.

"The Force? As in...Star Wars?" She probably shouldn't have said that but she had and that was all she could focus on now. Just trying to hope that she hadn't put her foot in it even though she knew she probably had.

There was an infinitesimal pause in Anakin’s work when the words ‘Star Wars’ were mentioned. Now more than before those words held poignant significance to Anakin. He’d learned of those DVDs shortly after arriving in the Land of Make Believe, but it wasn’t until just recently that he’d watched them. Part of him still wishes he had not, the part that would forever regret every step he took down the path towards the Dark Side. He was a firm believer it was better to have all the information than to remain in ignorance. And, as Galen’s presence could attest, there was much about Anakin’s future that he needed to be aware of for the sake of his safety. But seeing what he would become, what he would do, and how many people he would hurt was heart wrenching.

He had hoped, given the woman’s lack of fear or surprise at his presence she would be one of those few who didn’t know his story already. It seemed he was mistaken.

He returned to working on the component, connecting wires from one end to the base of another part already affixed to the framework.

“Yes, that would be the one.”

"Sorry I shouldn't have said that," she went on to say after he spoke. She had felt that uncomfortable silence after she stupidly opened her mouth and said things she shouldn't. She was just glad he seemed to know about it and she hadn't thrown such knowledge at him without even thinking. In future she really would have to remain as quiet as possible when faced with this sort of situation. Or avoid the situation altogether. Both options really did sound good right now as did turning and walking away, pretending that it never happened. But she had made the mess so she could fix it.

"So will it take you long to get it all working?"

That seemed like a safe topic to discuss rather than his fictional life. Not that she could really comment on it. She had watched one of the films, god knows which, so wasn't exactly a massive fan. She wouldn't be able to point out anyone other than a select few main characters at a push.
